Sheldon's has a long heritage of selling Port, Sherry and Madeira. In fact, the business was founded off the back of sales of these wine types in the mid 19th century. Today, we hold a selection of Ports from a variety of houses and vintages. If you are looking for an odd bottle of 1963 or 1977, give us a try as we often have old and rare bottles in stock. For sherry, we keep stocks from a number of producers with particular focus on Lustau including their Almancenista (independent producer) sherries. Whether for drinking or cooking, you will also find Madeiras, both sweet and dry.
With Gin, we focus on local producers. We are blessed with a number of small batch distilleries in the vicinity, many of them making excellent gin. We of course stock the Cotswolds Distillery range of gins, including the Wildflower range, and we hold their London Dry in 4 different bottle sizes.
We stock a selection of whiskies from around the world. Scotland, Ireland and Japan are represented, and we occasionally have bottles from some of the more obscure whisky producing countries. We have an expanding range of rums, rumoured to be the next big thing in spirits, mostly from the Carribean. Bourbons and Moonshine from the US, Tequilas and Mezcal from Mexico, Cognac from France and a number of other peculiarities (Grappa, Limoncello, Vermouths, Calvados, Armagnac, Cremes of various flavours and other not-to-be-found-elsewhere oddities), complete the range.
We don’t just sell wine, we also offer a wine education course where you can become an expert in wine and spirits.
